  • During a consultation, a lactation consultant will assess your breastfeeding technique, your baby’s latch, and any challenges you may be facing. They will provide hands-on guidance, offer personalized recommendations, and work with you to develop a plan that meets your breastfeeding goals.

  • Lactation support is designed to help you navigate the challenges of breastfeeding. Whether you're struggling with latching, milk supply, or simply need advice, a lactation consultant can provide the guidance and support you need to ensure a successful breastfeeding journey.

  • An IBCLC, or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, holds the highest credential in lactation care. While anyone can call themselves a “lactation consultant,” it’s essential to check for IBCLC certification when seeking support to ensure expert care. IBCLCs undergo rigorous training over 2-5+ years, including 90 hours of lactation-specific education, health science courses, and 300-1,000 hours of hands-on clinical experience. They must also maintain and renew their credentials regularly through the IBLCE. IBCLCs play an invaluable role on the healthcare team for breastfeeding families, offering a personalized, expert approach to help you reach your feeding goals.
